DEAN'S MESSAGE

Since our establishment in 1968, we have built a rich legacy of educating and shaping the nation’s technical leaders and innovators. For over five decades, our mission has been to provide a rigorous, dynamic, and relevant engineering education that meets the highest global standards while addressing the specific needs of Malaysian industry and society.

Our academic portfolio is designed to empower the next generation of engineers. At the undergraduate level, we offer two esteemed programmes: the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours and the Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering Technology with Honours. The quality and relevance of these programmes are affirmed by full accreditation from the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) and the Engineering Technology Accreditation Council (ETAC), respectively. This accreditation is a mark of trust and a passport for our graduates to build careers both locally and internationally.

For those seeking to deepen their expertise or pursue advanced research, our postgraduate school offers robust pathways. We provide four Master’s degree programmes by coursework and mixed mode, alongside one Master’s programme and one PhD programme by research. All our postgraduate offerings are accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), ensuring a framework of quality that supports advanced learning and discovery.

Beyond the classroom, our faculty is a vibrant hub of innovation and inquiry. We are actively engaged in pioneering research through 12 specialized research groups. This diverse ecosystem covers a wide spectrum of cutting-edge areas including, but not limited to: Aerospace, Rocket Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Wind Engineering, Materials Engineering, Tribology, Structural Dynamics and Vibration, Mechatronics, and Sports Engineering. This breadth ensures that our students and staff are at the forefront of technological advancement, contributing solutions to real-world challenges.
